ENDORSED BY THE DAILY BREEZE
NEWSPAPER!

I want to restore
balance and common sense to the Redondo Beach City Council in
District 2!
Preserving
Regional Aerospace Jobs and Protecting Los Angeles Air Force
Base
I am the only candidate with experience in
aerospace and job creation and retention.
Keeping and attracting businesses and jobs in
the South Bay will be a top priority.
Keeping our Neighborhoods Safe
I am proud to have the support of the Redondo
Beach Police Officers and Firefighters Associations, Peace
Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), and the
Hermosa Beach Police Officers. Public safety, including rapid
response times by police and paramedic first responders, must
remain our top budget priority.
Protecting our Beach, Water and Environment
I support the eventual elimination of the power
plant and other polluting industries, but do not support
measures which will result in endless lawsuits and potentially
bankrupt the City. As an avid boater, I support efforts to
reduce coastal pollution and protect wildlife.
Balancing our City Budget and Maintaining Prudent Reserves
We must maintain our quality public services
while maintaining reserves and avoiding unnecessary lawsuits
against Redondo Beach taxpayers. We can increase city revenues
with prudent investments and expansion of tax-generating
businesses.
Leading
on Waterfront Revitalization
As Chairman of the Harbor Commission, I am
working every day with the businesses, boat owners, and District
Two residents most impacted by the current Waterfront
Revitalization plans. No other candidate has the background or
in depth knowledge on this vital issue. I support quality
pier and harbor improvements that attract local patrons and
protect local homeowners.
Improving Cooperation with our School District
Redondo Union High School is the largest piece
of property in District Two. I have a great working relationship
with the superintendent and school board members and will work
closely with them to minimize the public impact of the exciting
new facilities at RUHS while maintaining our great educational
and athletic programs.
Keeping Commuter Traffic out of Neighborhoods
I oppose making Prospect Avenue or Catalina
Avenue 2-lane roads! We need to continue to insure that
commuter traffic and business parking does not encroach into
residential streets. As incoming Chairman of the Redondo Beach
Chamber of Commerce, I will work with local businesses to be
better neighbors to local residents.
Michael Jackson is committed to
representing the interests of ALL District 2 residents - not
just a selected few.
